On September 12, 2020, Global Spatial and Temporal Information Integration Services Professional Committee, GLAC (hereinafter referred to as the “Professional Committee”) holds the founding congress and the first plenary meeting in Beijing.

The Professional Committee, a branch of the GNSS & LBS Association of China (GLAC), was initiated by Beijing University of Civil Engineering and Architecture (BUCEA) in conjunction with China Silk Road Group Limited, the National Time Service Center, Chinese Academy of Sciences,PIESAT, etc. and was formally approved in June 2020. The Professional Committee will focus on the international development of Beidou, organize activities such as international and domestic academic and technical exchanges, technical trainings, product demonstrations, technology promotions, project cooperation and the popularization and publicity of related professional knowledge focusing on information processing and fusion, management, display, timing and positioning services and integrated location services of international integrated spatio-temporal information services. Such efforts aim to promote the internationalization, popularization and application of new technologies, products and achievements in the field of satellite navigation in China, and promote the industrialization of satellite navigation and positioning services in the Belt and Road region. The Professional Committee is affiliated to China Silk Road Group Limited, with Professor Jiang Jie from the IDRI of BUCEA as Secretary-General and Vice Director.

All members of the Professional Committee participated in the meeting in an online+offline manner. Liu Dake, Executive Vice President of GLAC attended the meeting and announced the decision on organizational setup of the Professional Committee, and the meeting deliberated and determined the constitution of the Professional Committee, recent work highlights, communication and coordination mechanism among members, and held extensive discussions on jointly promoting the work of the Professional Committee.

The IDRI of BUCEA will fully rely on the Professional Committee, give full play to the high quality educational resources of BUCEA and the platform of the Belt and Road Architectural University International Consortium, positively explore and carry out multi-level and multi-model domestic and international industry-university-research innovation cooperation, and promote the construction of the International Communication Center of the Capital and the internationalization development of BUCEA.
